2023 YOUTH FIELD DAY AFTER ACTION REPORT

We are pleased to report to the membership that we had a successful Youth Day this past Saturday at the club. We had 35 youths with their parents/guardians work through the five stations that we had set up for them to experience shooting air-gun, bolt action 22s, semi-auto 22s, archery and shotguns. There were many smiles from both the shooters and the adults throughout the day.

The youths all learned important safety and shooting skills at each station. In addition, they had exposure to the importance of shooting skills to the founding of America and to protecting Liberty in the future.

One parent sent the following feedback to the club:

“I just wanted to reach out and say thank you for that event today. My daughter really enjoyed it, and everything that was available for her to shoot. I also wanted to give praise to every single volunteer there. Every volunteer I saw there was very patient, helpful, and encouraging to the youth of the event and that was very awesome to see. I saw ZERO flaws in anything today for how the event was run from my perspective of things today. Everything was beyond great. Thank you for putting on that event, and setting awesome examples for the youth. We look forward to next year’s already. Thank you again.”

Big thanks to our event co-chairmen — Al Field and Steve Branam — to all the club members who stepped up to provide instructors and safety officers for each station, to Al’s two daughters for preparing the food and drinks for the event and to the club overall for holding the event.

And more importantly, big thanks to our event sponsors: Buckeye Firearms Foundation, Revere’s Riders, National Shooting Sports Foundation, Fastenal, Sam’s Club, Ohio Airguns, LLC, Norwalk IGA, Lowes, the Fin, Kathy Scheidel and two anonymous ECCL members. We could not have had this event without the support of these great organizations and individuals.

We look forward to holding the event again next year.
